New Faculty & Staff    

Please welcome our newest faculty and staff members to the Barnesville School for the 2012-2013 school year. 

Travis Wooden    
Travis Wooden joins Barnesville as our new Fifth Grade Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher. Travis is a graduate of St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes in Alexandria, and he taught fifth and sixth grade for a number of years at St. John’s Episcopal School in Olney. During his time at St. John’s, Travis led overnight field trips and sponsored such activities as Model U.N., Student Council, Homework Club, and the National Geographic Geography Bee. Most recently, Travis taught sixth grade social studies at Legacy Charter School in Greenville, South Carolina. He comes with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from the University of Tennessee, and he is currently working on his Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of Maryland University College. In addition to teaching fifth grade social studies and language arts here at Barnesville, Travis will lead one section of fifth grade mathematics, and serve as a middle school coach.
Caitlyn Walters    
Caitlyn Walters joins us as our new part-time Advancement Associate.  She brings a wealth of experience in fundraising efforts and event planning for non-profit organizations. While working for the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA), an education-focused non-profit, her expertise in donor identification, research, report creation and analysis enabled the Association to concentrate resources more effectively. As Member Coordinator of ASMEA, Caitlyn managed all aspects of donor acknowledgement and provided evaluation of the most successful membership strategies. Most recently, Caitlyn assisted us by volunteering for both our Family Fun Night and our 2012 Auction and Gala. Caitlyn holds a law degree from George Washington University Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from Dickinson College.
Robin Snider    
Robin comes to us as our new part-time Admission and Marketing Associate. Robin is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Business, with a concentration on Hospitality and Tourism Management. She has extensive experience in sales, marketing, technology, training, and event management.  Most recently she was the New Business Development Sales Manager for DoubleTree Bethesda by Hilton, and during her time there she exceeded individual sales goals. Prior to this she was Event Planner for Martin's Caterers, where she planned staff meetings form multiple locations, managed event finances, coordinated numerous events, and brought in new clients.
Paty Franco    
We welcome Paty Franco as our new Kids Club (After School Care) Teacher. Paty has been a teacher at Early Learning Fun (ELF) School Too in Damascus since 2011, and she will continue to teach there during the mornings. Paty has extensive experience tutoring children and providing child care. Paty possesses two Associate of Arts in Teaching degrees from Montgomery College, one in Early Childhood Education and one in Elementary Education.
