	What grades does Barnesville teach?
	Barnesville educates students starting at age 3 with our Early Childhood program through 8th grade.

	Do you provide before and after school care?
	Yes, we provide both. Before-school care (Early Birds) begins at 7 a.m. and after-school care (Kids Club) begins at 3 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m.

	How many students are in a class?
	We have an average of 12 students per class, though this varies slightly from class to class. For core classes like math and reading, we divide the classes into smaller groups.

	How diverse is the school?
	Twenty-one percent of the student body and two percent of our faculty and staff are minorities. We also have a small group of international students and faculty.

	Do you offer financial aid?
	Financial aid is provided, however awards are need-based and competitive. Make sure that you fill out the application as early as possible for full consideration.

	Is there a school uniform?
	No, though we ask that students adhere to the dress code outlined in the Student Handbook.  On Fridays and for special events, such as Open Houses, we celebrate Spirit Day, requiring students to wear their Barnesville logo attire.

	Is transportation provided?
	Yes, transportation is provided at limited locations. Pick-up and drop-off service is offered in the Germantown/Gaithersburg/Kentlands/Poolesville areas. We may add alternate routes such as Urbana/Frederick. This is subject to change depending on need.

	Is there a cafeteria that provides lunch?
	We provide a catered hot lunch program from Mama Lucia’s. Parents can purchase a hot lunch online to be provided to their children.

	Does the school have a certain religious affiliation?
	No, Barnesville is not affiliated with any religious group.

	What foreign languages are taught?
	Spanish is taught in all grades - from Early Childhood (3 year olds) thru 8th grade.

	Is there half-day or full-day Pre-K and kindergarten?
	Kindergarten is full-day. Early Childhood and Prekindergarten is half-day, with the option of afternoon enrichment.

	Do students have access to computers?
	Yes, we have two computer labs and classrooms that provide a total of 96 computers for the school.

	Are there athletic teams?
	Yes, in the middle school we offer soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and cross-country.These teams play against local area schools and have won several division championships.

	What extracurricular activities are offered?
	There are a number of clubs available for students including chess, scrapbooking, outdoor science and nature, and scrabble. We also provide several after-school classes for small fees outside of the Kids Club program.
