IMPORTANT ! Attention Payment Plan Families:

Thank you for the patience that you have shown as we transition over to the new FACTS online reenrollment.

The FACTS enrollment is $38. This fee is in addition to the school service fee as indicated on your enrollment contract.

A Special Note

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of my lovely families here at the Barnesville School!!  It's been a pleasure to work with every one of you during these past five years. I would also like to give a special thanks to the volunteers that have supported the Business Office over these years !! It has been a joy working with you.

Take care and have a wonderful summer and see you in the Fall!! - for those of you who do not know Aimee and Adora will be returning to the Barnesville School !!

A Note from Mrs. Nave

Medication in my office
All medications held in my office MUST be picked up by the last day of school. Whatever is not picked up will be discarded in the appropriate manner. Please make arrangements to pick up your child's medication. No medications will be sent home with a student.

Lost and Found
Our lost and found has accumulated. The locker rooms were cleaned out and we could start a used clothing store. Please stop by and claim your child’s lost items.

Tooth box report- just for fun!
Checking my chart for the last two weeks, I am excited to say that 5 tooth boxes have left my office. 2 teeth from the same mouth were lost on the playground and never to be found.  2 teeth were lost at lunch and one student lost her tooth on the bus on the way to school.

Health/Emergency and Student Information Forms
Don’t forget to get them to me as soon as possible.

Facilities and Transportation

As usual,  Facilities will have a busy summer preparing for the 2010 - 2011 school year. The big project will be the relocation  of the playground equipment, having the pavilion constructed, and finishing off the other components in this project. From Betty, John and myself, have a great safe summer, and we'll see you in September. Bernie

From Our Head of School

Graduation is upon us already, arriving much sooner than anyone expected (but exactly when it normally occurs, or course). Just a moment ago I was speaking with one of our soon-to-be graduates, and I asked him “does it seem like a whole school year has gone by?” His reply was a dazed “not really!” And truth be told, all of our 8th graders seem a little nonplussed by the moment. It’s that sudden realization that the end of their school year, as well as the end of their time at Barnesville, has come upon them at last. It is that bittersweet combination of excitement for a new future in high school and sadness for leaving behind good friends and teachers.

Please come join us this Friday as we celebrate our 8th graders’ proud achievements. At 10 am, we will gather in the gymnasium for our annual Graduation Exercises, and each of our 8th graders will address the Barnesville community. This year we will also be joined by Tess Klingenstein ’06, a young alumna planning her next step at Tufts. She will be speaking to our 8th graders about her memories of Barnesville as well as imparting advice for their next step in their educational career.

While this is a time to say farewell, it’s also a time of new beginning. The following Monday, the faculty and I will be hard at work planning for the upcoming school year. As we continue in our efforts to seek Green School certification, and we break ground on our outdoor classroom project, there will be much to do! I continue to be excited for Barnesville’s growth and direction, and I am privileged to work beside truly outstanding teachers, administrators, and trustees. Our capacity is strong, and our will is great.

See you at graduation! And have a wonderful summer!

Communications and Marketing

Promote Barnesville Over the Summer!

The most popular way that new families hear about Barnesville is through YOU! Here are a couple tips to help you continue promoting the school over the summer:

  1. Wear your Barnesville T-shirt! If you’re attending a sporting event, a community event, or just going out to dinner with the family, get everyone to wear their school T-shirts. Check out the school store if you want to purchase something new!
  2. Tell a friend! Remember that the most important way that people hear about our school is through YOU! Use those referral cards! If you need more, we’re happy to send some home.
  3. Tell a stranger! If you see a new family in the neighborhood, send us their address and we can mail them an information packet. If you make a new friend at the soccerplex, mention Barnesville! Use these opportunities when you're meeting new people to talk about the school.
  4. Use the internet! Complete the “Why I Love Barnesville” form on our website. Visit our pages on yelp, yahoo local, great schools, and city squares.  Help the school be more visible online!
  5. Share photos of your kids! Check out the photos online in our photo gallery, candids from the head of school page, and from the “in the classroom” sections of your child’s grade!
  6. Put a sign in your garden! Campaign for the school over the summer by putting a "Proudly Supporting The Barnesville School" sign in your garden, front yard, or window.  Email Nicole to get a sign.

Denim & Diamonds Follow Up

The Gala Committee would like to again thank all of the amazing volunteers, donors, and families that helped to make this year's Gala a great success.  Through the success of the Family Fun Night Raffle, the Online Auction, and the Denim & Diamonds Gala and Auction, we were able to gross over $168,000 for Barnesville.  Thank you for all of your support and generosity!
