November in Early Childhood
When you see me in the fields
My orange glowing in the sun,
It’s time to say goodbye to summer
And hello to autumn fun!
Our Halloween pumpkins have all been carved, and now we look forward to a rich harvest of fun activities to celebrate the season! In November we will explore leaves, gourds, pumpkins, scarecrows and all of the seasonal changes happening around us. We will also learn about the Thanksgiving tradition and get ready to celebrate Grandparents Day. It is a tradition at Barnesville for the students to invite a Grandparent or Grand friend to spend the morning with them at school on the day before Thanksgiving. Wednesday November 24th is Grandparent’s Day. That morning Grandparents are asked to come to the auditorium for a presentation by the school. Immediately following the presentation, they will be invited to have pictures taken with their grandchildren & then visit our classroom for a Thanksgiving celebration. This is a festive time at Barnesville & an experience your child will not want to miss. If your child does not have a Grandparent or Grand friend in the area able to join us, please let us know.
In addition to our Barnesville traditions, we will also explore various family traditions throughout the holiday season. We would love to know which holidays you celebrate & learn about your family traditions. Please let us know if there are any particular celebrations or traditions that you would like to share with the class.
We are looking forward to spending this colorful time of year with your children & wish you a wonderful and warm November!
