Ski Trip Forms Due
Please remember to return your child's Middle School ski trip forms by next week?  This forms is required in order for your child to attend the ski trip!
Fourth Grade and Kindergarten Buddies Give Light
Fourth Grade and Kindergarten buddies have received three cards and photos from Captain Kelly Warren 883rd Med. Det. CSC  and her team thanking all our classes for the cards and artwork we sent before the holidays.  Her personal message stated, "I have 3 children and that is one reason I like keeping our families and children safe."  Both classes will be making cards again and sending them out for Valentine's Day. The cards from all our soldiers will be on display in the front hallway in the near future showing how we at Barnesville are giving back and giving peace and light from our focus during Peace Week.
Goats for Haiti Campaign Extended
Due to the snow days, we are extending our "Goats for Haiti" Campaign through Tuesday, January 25th.  if your child hasn't done chores for $5 yet, they still have a chance to contribute to this worthy cause.  So far we have raised $800, enough for 6 1/2 goats.  Each goat costs $120 and our goal is to buy 9 goats for Haiti.
Libros!

The Spanish library needs YOUR help! Please help us fill the shelves with books. If you have books in Spanish at home or if you would like to purchase some that we can include, all the students would appreciate it a lot.

Reading in Spanish…

... improves your vocabulary

...increases your understanding of grammar

...improves your contextual understanding

Gracias, Profesora Zeppos

Volunteers are needed!  We have been getting in LOTS of great donations, and need some volunteers to help package and wrap our baskets.  If wrapping baskets isn't your thing, but you still have some time to spare, let us know.  There are plenty of other volunteer opportunities, including helping out on March 4 at Family Fun Night.  Contact Nicole Campbell or Debbie Don (deborah_spates@hotmail.com) if you're available to help out.
Ski Club
Ski Club is headed to Whitetail Friday after school.  If you want to meet up, look for us at the lift for Sidewinder around 5 or for dinner in the lodge around 6:30.

Girl Scout Collecting Pet Supplies!
Girl Scout Troop 5946 is collecting clean, used towels, sheets, blankets and other bedding to help rescued dogs and cats cared for by Lizzy’s Lodge, a non profit animal rescue organization in Maryland:

Beginning next week a collection box will be located in the Museum Building through Friday, February 4. These items are desperately needed by Lizzy’s Lodge for the foster families that care for the animals while waiting for adoption.  Junior Girl Scouts from the 5th & 6th grades are leading this project to earn their Bronze Award and have been volunteering with Lizzy’s Lodge at PetSmart.  The Juniors have also volunteered at the Days End Horse Rescue and visited Second Chance Wildlife Center.  Donation boxes for Lizzy’s Lodge will also be at Selby's Market, Poolesville Veterinary Clinic, Peachtree Veterinary  Clinic and Poolesville Healthworks until the end of January. For questions, contact Laurie Hundertmark at blhundertmark@msn.com.
