Viva Las Vegas Spring Gala and Auction invitations have been mailed, and RSVPs are due this Monday, April 18.  We will be displaying the wonderful class projects soon, so stop in the Main Building to see what your child's class has created for the auction.  In addition to the class projects we have some really great auction items this year.  Interested in a weekend on Kent Island?  We've got it!  How about tickets to the Orioles v. Yankees?  We've got them too!  Remember, if you can't make it to the Gala, absentee bidding is available!

The bidding is picking up on the online auction.  If you haven't started bidding yet, click here.  This is the ONLY way to get that special experience with your child's favorite Barnesville faculty or staff member, so don't miss out!

Volunteers are needed to help prep for the Gala, so if you have any free time over the next couple of weeks, stop in Nicole Campbell's office.
May Day
Lower School will celebrate May Day on Friday, May 6, at 10:30 on the playground around the May Pole.  Come and join us--the festivities will be led by the traditional Hobby Horse and Teaser!  The Muffin Man, and the Jack-In-the-Green and Chimney Sweeps will be there, and all Lower School students will be participating.

On that day, each Lower School student needs to bring to school a flower or two, or a small "branch of May".  Boys should wear nice, comfortable pants or shorts, and a nice shirt of spring colors, such as pastel tones, or muted stripes or plaid.  Girls should wear festive but comfortable spring clothing suitable for dancing.  No jeans or T-shirts should be worn that day!  All students MUST wear shoes with non-skid soles to avoid slipping and sliding while dancing.

The 4th Graders have other clothing requirements for May Day.  All 4th Grade boys should wear long khaki pants and a long-sleeved white oxford-style shirt on May Day.  The girls in Mrs. Dyke's class should wear the same (long khaki pants and long-sleeved white shirt) to school on May Day, and bring regular May Day clothing (festive Spring outfits such as dresses, or skirts and blouses, etc.) for wearing during the May Pole ribbon dance.  The girls in Mrs. Pause's class should wear regular May Day clothing, as described above, to May Day.

Thank-you--see you there!

Pre-K Star of the Week!

Trent's week was packed with fun activities.  On Monday, we celebrated Trent's birthday by decorating our own cupcakes and then eating them.  We then played Angry Birds in the classroom. On Tuesday, we learned that Trent loves pizza and the story Pete's a Pizza.  We made our own paper pizzas, put them in the oven to bake and made lots of deliveries in the classroom.  I spent a lot of money on pizza deliveries :)  On Wednesday, we learned about airplanes (there are many different types) and then each child got to play with the large collection that Trent brought from home.  To finish up the day, we were each given a glider to take home and a paper airplane to fly outside.  It was a breezy day so it was perfect!  On Thursday, we got to meet Bosley - Trent's 9 yr. old Great Pyrenees dog.  We got to hear the story of his arrival home to the Woelfer's home and see some pictures of Bosley as a puppy.  He was very soft and very patient to have so many hands petting him.  Finally, on Friday, we learned about rockets and helped to decorate a large rocket for Trent's bedroom.  We put stickers on it and used markers and crayons to decorate it.  Thank you to Trent and Liz for an excellent week!
