| Poolesville High Magnet Tour | | Middle School parents are invited for a private Barnesville tour of Poolesville High School with Magnet Coordinator Billie Bradshaw. Interested Barnesville parents can meet with Ms. Bradshaw at PHS on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 9 am. Ms. Bradshaw will discuss the three magnet programs (Humanities, Global Ecology, and Science / Math / Computer Science) and answer your questions. A tour of this sort won't happen again until 2013, so we encourage all interested middle school parents to come.
Please RSVP to Karol Nave so we know how many to expect. Also let Karol know if you are interested in joining us on the bus, departing Barnesville at 8:40 am. Otherwise, please meet us at the new Science building at PHS at 9 am.

| Filming at Barnesville | |
On Sunday, Oct. 23, The Barnesville School will be the location for a short film being made by Gabriel Walsh, a Barnesville parent. The film tells the story of a young father who works as a roadside billboard installer. The sequence we are staging at the school recreates a small, musical pageant in which our protagonist watches his 12-year-old daughter sing.
This scene and the entire movie, though a bit spooky and dark at times, is strictly PG in its content.
This film is one part of an over-arching story that is being told through many different mediums including a collection of short stories, several faux web sites, a card game and concept album. You can read more about last year’s installment of the project at the URL below:
I would personally like to thank the staff and community at Barnesville for allowing me this opportunity and look forward to sharing the completed work with you.
Be an Extra
Gabriel needs extras to appear in the pageant scene of his film. Parents and kids from EC to 8th grade are welcome. Filming with extras will take place from 10 am until approximatley 2 pm. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
About 10 sets of parents and kids are required, so please email Kristen Carter if you are interested in participating. | |

| Winter Break Childcare | | Barnesville is considering offering childcare during Winter Break for the week before Christmas. If you are interested in participating please contact Lynda Forman, Auxiliary Director. Once we determine the level of interest, we will send out more information. | |
| Business Office | | Just in case:
If your child is participating in an afterschool activity, and the sibling needs to stay in Kids Club, we have sibling afterschool activity club vouchers for purchase at $40 a sheet. Karol can provide you with the order form.
If you need Kids Club on a regular basis, then you may want to complete a contract. Kids Club vouchers and drop-ins are for families who seldom need after school care. Contract versus Drop-ins.... a $12/day savings. Click here for the contract.
The Business Office is here to help you manage your school financial accounts. Let us know how we may continue to support your family's needs.
