| LS Holiday Show | | We are looking forward to our annual Lower School Holiday Show, Dec. 19 at 7:30 pm. This is an opportunity for all Lower School students to perform in a traditional, formal concert setting. Therefore, Mrs. Taylor kindly requests that parents and friends in the audience observe the following:
- There is no seating on the floor directly in front of the stage. (That space is reserved for the conductor!) Siblings and other children should sit in chairs with their families.
- Please maintain discretion if video-taping the performance. Please do not put cameras directly in front of your children's faces. It tends to encourage inappropriate behaviors.
The evening of the performance, the performers should arrive at School between 7 and 7:10 pm. They should immediately report to their classrooms. Festive attire is appropriate although it need not be overly dressy. The children should be comfortable and look nice and neat. No T-shirts or jeans.
Parents, when you bring your children to their classrooms between 7 and 7:10 pm, please take their coats with you to the gym. All Lower School children will be dismissed after the show from the gym.
We look forward to seeing you!
| Auxiliary Programs | | Lynda Forman, Auxiliary Director The hustle and bustle of December is upon us! I keep counting the days until Winter Break wondering where the time has gone. Our holiday themed after school activities are in full swing. It is not too late to sign up for next Friday's LAND Holiday Green Workshop. Please find the registration form on the website.
The next session of after school activities begins on January 9, 2012, and it looks like it will be another great session. We have some returning favorites like Meet The Masters and Yoga, and some new choices too. Registration begins on December 26 and runs through January 6.
Coming soon -- Summer Camp brochure! Save the dates and join us for a summer of joy, support, and excellence!

| Thank You Library Volunteers | | Cindy Barr, Librarian Grandparents’ Day was a great success for the library because of the generosity of the wonderful grandparents and “grand friends” who dedicated more than 175 books. The process of preparing for Grandparents’ Day requires many helping hands. I would like to thank all the library volunteers who work toward the goal of a successful Grandparents’ Day and the ongoing goal of a positive library experience throughout the year. Caroline Semancik and Paola Self, the library volunteer coordinators, schedule, plan, and work with the following library volunteers; Kathy Donohoe, Shannon Goins, Karin Hall, Laurie Kelliher, Niki Markoff, Pam Matia, Carol Mayer, Beth Myers, Michelle Pappas, Kate Polozie, Eve Rothenberg, Paula Russin, Melissa Sabad, Wendy Sinnott, Dana Smith, Pritha Srinivasan, Mark Waksberg, Kieran Murray, Rakhi Handa, Ferhet Hussain, Lydia Fraser, Dolores Zumbado, Erika Henderson, Dawn Wilbur, Lee Min, Francis Parsons, Nicole Ehrentraut, Camille Hoover, and Lynn Stearns. Thank you volunteers for your steadfast help even when the big “T” dinner waits in the wings. I am so appreciative of your dedication.
Is there anyone interested in dedicating a library book that was unable to attend on Grandparents’ Day? We have a great selection available for dedication for Grandparents’ Day remembrance or for another special occasion.
