Morning Meeting

"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." – Robert Brault

Every morning, we bring together our entire faculty and student body to begin the day as a community. Morning Meeting takes place in the gymnasium beginning at 7:55 am. This daily event builds community and strengthens student participation. It ensures that students start their school day on a positive note. Morning Meeting also provides our Middle School students with authentic leadership and public speaking opportunities.

The Middle Schoolers responsible for leading Morning Meeting sound a gong and lead students in the Pledge of Allegiance. They then share “This Day in History” information, provide updates on School events, celebrate student and faculty birthdays, and call on teachers so that they may share additional news. Students frequently take this opportunity to share positive news about important events in their lives. At times, there will be a group activity tied into the Character Word of the Month, a brief presentation, or a message tied to current events. There are even opportunities to sing and dance! At the close of Morning Meeting, students line up to shake hands and greet a teacher or administrator as the formal start to the day.
