After graduating from Barnesville in 2000, it is a privilege and joy to return as teacher. I’m an avid believer in the power of a strong early childhood education, and providing children with rich, experiential learning opportunities. With a background in the arts, I know first hand the impact that integrating the arts has in fostering creative, collaborative, critical thinkers. I spent my first eight years of teaching at the Lucy School: An Arts Based Pre-K through 8th institution in Middletown, MD, where I taught preschool and drama. In addition to developing, leading, and integrating process dramas for all ages, I also became passionate about environmental education and earth stewardship during my time the Lucy School. I have presented my drama work at the American Alliance for Theater in Education's national conference and most recently partnered with Imagination Stage in Bethesda, along with playwright Suzan Zeder, on a three year community based dramaturgy collaboration. I am thrilled to be back home at Barnesville where I strive to bring the arts and sciences to life each day for our smallest students, setting the foundation as they continue on their Barnesville way. In my spare time, I love to run and practice yoga!
