Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences welcomed 45 new students, five new faculty members, and bus service from Frederick for the 2017-18 school year. Families have lots of opportunities to meet up with school friends at Poolesville Day and Homecoming.

Having visited Antietam, Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, and the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, fifth graders each selected a prominent individual from the time period and conducted research into their life. Dressed in character, students shared information about their subjects with parents and students from younger grades.
