IMAGINE... A Barnesville Summer

...where your campers can explore arts, sciences, and a variety of other exciting programs. Our 30-acre campus, uniquely located in the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, allows us to offer a wide array of camps that include science, arts, sports, outdoor adventures, and fun themed-based offerings for children from age 3.5 years through 8th grade.


Early-Registration Discounts!
  • Register by April 1 and get $50 off every week of camp!!!
  • Register for the whole summer (8 weeks total), and save up to an additional $150! When you sign up for the whole summer now, you save as much as $550!!!

*Early-registration discount for half-day camp is $25 off per week. Full-summer discount for half-day camps is $75 .The discount prices are applied in the registration process. Discount prices only apply until 11:59 PM on Saturday, April 1.

Camp Fees

Cubs (3 ½ years old to 1st Grade):
One-week Full-day Camp: $250
One-week Half-day Camp: $175

Each week our Bear Cubs will go on adventures through literature as they explore themes such as agriculture, nature, and the arts! Every day is filled with activities, games, and play. We will spend time outside, go on trips to the Frederick Band Shell, the lake and so much more...check out the listing for each week in the Cub Camp tab below!

Bears (2nd-4th Grade):
One-week Full-day Camp: $250
One-week Half-day Camp: $175

Join our Bears as we explore the world around us. From agriculture and nature to plays and the arts, this is a summer not to be missed at Barnesville. Each day will be filled with activities and experiences you won’t want to miss! In addition to the activities listed, we will have some off-site field trips to round out our camp experiences with a water activity each week at the lake or off-site! Grizzlies (5th-8th Grade):
One-week Full-day Camp: $300
One-week Half-day Camp: $175

Early Birds and S'more Camp:

Our before and after care are offered at an additional fee. You may register for Early Birds and S'more Camp when you register for camp. Weekly and Daily Drop-in options are available for each. Please see our Early Birds and S'more Camp tab for more information on rates.

Early Bird & S'more Camp

Register for Early Bird and S'more Camp Care

Early Birds: 7:30-8:45 a.m.
Cost: $50/week

S'more Camp: 4-6 p.m.
Cost: $100/week

Both Early Bird and S'more: $150 per week

Barnesville Summer will be offering before and after camp care on a weekly and drop-in basis. This is a service provided by our own wonderful camp staff. Campers can enjoy a light snack and choose from a variety of fun activities in which to participate.

S'more Camp Pick-Up Policy: Campers should be picked up from S'more Camp by 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., any remaining campers will be considered a late pick-up and will incur late fees, due at the time of pick-up.

For campers picked up between 6 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., there is a flat charge of $15.00. For campers picked up between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. there is a flat charge of $40.00. For campers picked up after 6:30 p.m., there will be a late fee of $75.00, and this is grounds for dismissal from S'more Camp.

Transportation

Transportation is included in the weekly rate!

Half Day (AM 9 a.m.-1 p.m., PM noon-4 p.m.) Cost: $175/week

Full Day Cost: $250/week

Each week, Cubs will participate in a number of fun, structured activities that revolve around a common theme.


Week 1: Summer Sampler

Join us for a week of adventure, art, cooking, nature, and so much more. Try a sampler of what a Barnesville Summer has to offer. Campers will spend each day experiencing what the summer holds for them. Each day will include stories, play, arts and crafts, time to enjoy the beginning of summer! We will take a field trip to the state park and cool off with water play and snowcones!


Week 2: Sports & Adventure

Week 2 of summer camp brings us to a week of sports and adventure. Campers will go hiking, play games, learn about different sports, and participate in a water olympics day. We will read stories and do crafts with a sports theme. One day will be spent hiking and enjoying the water at a local lake.

Week 3: Celebrate the USA!

Join us for our third week and a celebration of America’s Birthday! Red, White, and Blue adventures await as we put on an old fashioned carnival, make apple pie, enjoy games, stories, and snowcones! This week will be jam-packed with fun and fireworks!

Week 4: Magic Time

We have nothing up our sleeve for this 4th week of summer camp! Come spend the week learning about magic and magicians. Campers will learn magic tricks, juggling, and how to entertain a crowd. We will enjoy local performances and put on a magic show of our own! Abracadabra--you will not want to miss this week of fun!


Week 5: Art & Illustrators

From the work of Eric Carle to Picasso--week 5 is a week of creativity and art! Each day we will read stories and focus on a different artist or illustrator. Campers will create their own art, tour an art gallery, play games, and enjoy this art-filled week.


Week 6: Dr. Seuss Week

Oh the places we’ll go and the things we will think as we travel through the many worlds of Dr. Seuss this 6th week of camp. From letters and words, to plays and adventures, campers will enjoy stories about Sneeches and Beaches and Whos down in Whoville. We will put on plays, do crafts, and have a Seuss-a-rific good time!


Week 7: Cubs to the Rescue!

Week 7 is filled with adventure as we enjoy a week of comics and super heroes. Campers will read stories and travel to worlds with the superhero powers. Crafts and games will allow them to create their own superheroes for a comic of their own! We will also visit some of the local superheroes in our own neighborhoods! This is a week you do not want to miss!


Week 8: Animal Safari


The final week of camp is a week not to miss! Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh My! We will travel the world as we read stories, play games, and learn about the animals we find on Earth. A trip to the zoo will round out this week of animal fun!

Week 4: Robotics and Engineering

Week four brings about Engineering and Robotics. We will build with legos and other materials, design plans, and visit the building museum in Washington DC.

Week 5: Art Around Town

From Frederick, MD to Washington DC, join us as we explore art and architecture. Campers will take daily trips to both cities to look at the sights, draw what they see, and visit a gallery or two along the way. Get your sketchbooks ready and join us for an art filled week!

Week 6: Improv and Comedy

All the world’s a stage and every camper is an actor in our week long course of comedy and improv! Week 6 will keep you laughing from Monday to Friday as campers hone their acting skills and comedic delivery with one act plays and improv skits!

Week 7: Sports and Adventure 2

Week 7 of summer camp brings us to another week of sports and adventure. Campers will go hiking, play games, and participate in adventure sports activities through places such as Calleva.

Week 8: Environmental Studies and Art and Adventure

The final week of camp is a week not to miss! Campers will bring their hiking and science skills to good use as they explore some of the local parks and trails. Each day will be an adventure not to miss. From swimming in the lake and canoeing to trail hiking, drawing and stream wading, this is a jam-packed week of fun!
