Mrs. Lauren Lowe and prekindergarten students opened a snow bakery, and it was so cool!! Our little bakers used measuring cups and teaspoons to put the snow into the muffin tins and then used watercolors to paint and flavor their cupcakes. They were all so creative! They were making decorations for their cupcakes, creating layer cakes, mixing colors, and inventing flavors. Mrs. Lowe has never been offered so many cupcakes before in her life! Students sat and played with that snow for a solid 45 minutes, and everybody sighed when it was time to clean up because they wanted to keep playing! The JOY was real for everyone!! If you ever wondered how art is combined with learning, this is just one example of #TheBarnesvilleWay.
Our teaching encourages students to explore how subjects relate to one another, helping them to make connections that spark inquiry and deepen understanding.
