Like most independent schools, Barnesville School sets tuition below the cost of educating each student, making a Barnesville education affordable to more families. With the Power of Community, The Barnesville School Fund helps bridge the gap between tuition and actual costs. Tax-deductible contributions from our community support the joyful and nurturing learning environment our faculty provides each and every day.
This important financial resource enables Barnesville to make the necessary educational and programmatic investments that ensure an impactful and enriching experience for our children:
A small and personalized classroom environment ensuring a high caliber of enrolled students;
An academic curriculum that incorporates an experiential approach to nature, technology, and the Arts and Sciences with academic rigor to prepare our children for advanced high school placement;
On-going field trips leveraging our unique setting within the Nation's Capital, incorporating overnight excursions and even the opportunity to study abroad;
The ability to retain and hire experienced and passionate teachers, who embody a socially protective environment while encouraging our kids to expand their boundaries and take risks.
This year marks the 16th consecutive year that 100% of our teachers have participated in the Barnesville School Fund. Their support demonstrates appreciation for the freedom they have to challenge each student and promote imagination, exploration, personal growth, and achievement.
Third Grade Teacher, Melanie Gekas, who has been teaching at Barnesville for 21 years said, "Every year is filled with oodles of explorations and meaningful discoveries. To paraphrase A.A. Milne, every time you put on your boots at Barnesville, you know there's a great adventure ready to happen."
We are working together to replicate the commitment our teachers make to our children year, after year, after year. We hope everyone in the Barnesville community will consider making a tax-deductible pledge to The Barnesville School Fund.
