Mrs. Jordan has lots of fun ways of teaching her pre-k students the alphabet, but few things can top “P is for pizza!”
Each year, Barnesville alumna and parent, Barbara Stull, hosts the pre-k class at Cugini’s, her restaurant in Poolesville. Students make their own pizza and get a behind-the-scenes tour to learn what it takes to run a restaurant. Having learned the ropes from a pro, the kids then create their own pretend Pre-K Pizza Parlor in the classroom.
This year, each student had a turn being both a customer and a restaurant worker, serving real pizza. Mrs. Hamilton and her early childhood students were special guests for a second seating.
