Ground breaking on Butterfly Gardens

In an effort to devote more campus space to animal habitat, The Arts and Science Task Force has broken ground on three different areas that will be converted into butterfly gardens that will also be a safe haven for hummingbirds. Seventh grade students have been designated as the stewards of this project as it has a direct correlation to the Biology curriculum. Last week, they worked to dig an area for plants for this space. They also organized stone materials that will be used as part of the garden design. Throughout the Fall, seventh graders will be continuing their efforts to ready the garden spaces for Spring planting.
