Lee Langstaff of Shepherd's Hey Farm in Dickerson recently visited with Barnesville's first grade to share her extensive knowledge about sheep and wool. The students were then invited to visit her family farm.

This year's Peace Week theme "Peacemakers and Problem-Solvers" challenged students to not just celebrate Dr. King's words and work, but to contemplate the skills he and other peacemakers and problem-solvers used that each of us can emulate.

Each eighth grader selected a favorite author to research so they could present their personal and professional stories, posing as "wax figures" that "come to life" to deliver short biographical reports for students from other grades as well as teachers and parents.
