Competing in athletics helps strengthen many valuable life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, internal motivation, commitment, and time management. To ensure success for your child, athletes are encouraged to start pre-season conditioning and to enroll in specific sports skills programs over the summer. Arriving physically and mentally prepared will minimize potential injury and maximize enjoyment. In addition, YouTube and Kudda provide great instruction for youths in regards to specific sports skill drills, conditioning, and rules.
We encourage all athletes to eat a healthy diet and to get plenty of sleep. To maintain a proper academic/athletics life balance, Barnesville athletes may only participate in one school team sport per season.
If student turnout for certain sports is high, team selection will be needed to support a safe and enjoyable program. The selection process will be overseen by the coach to ensure fairness and a positive experience for players.
