Admissions Process

Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences celebrates the unique talents and perspectives of every child. We provide an innovative educational experience that enables each student to make the most of his or her academic path in a culture of joy, support, and excellence. Our admissions process focuses on whether we are the right fit for your child to keep true to the promise of our mission to bring out the excellence in each individual. Barnesville School celebrates diversity and welcomes all applicants. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, or national or ethnic origin in admissions and scholarship programs; nor in the administration of our educational, athletic, or other school programs.

Preschool

  • Visit

    Applicants will be invited for a short visit in our preschool program.

Lower School

  • Visit

    Once an application is complete, the admissions office will schedule a time for your child to visit with his or her potential classmates. Applicants will spend an entire day (a half-day for kindergarten) experiencing our extraordinary teachers and welcoming community. To help each child feel immediately comfortable, an Admissions Ambassador from the same grade is selected to be a dedicated buddy for the day. Serving as an Admissions Ambassador is an honor, and our students take the responsibility very seriously.
  • Transcripts

    Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences requires grades from the current year and previous two years.
  • Recommendations

    We require a teacher recommendation from the student’s current Language Arts teacher and current Math teacher.
  • Testing

    For our lower school applicants, an in-house assessment will be administered. There is nothing to prepare in advance.

Middle School

    Middle School applicants (5th-8th Grade) are required to take the SSAT or ISEE test. For test dates, locations and registration information visit SSAT or ISEE websites.

Key Dates

We are currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year! Applications will continue to be accepted as space is available.

There are four rounds of Rolling Admissions:
Priority Admissions - January 15 due date
Spring Admissions - April 15 due date
Summer Admissions - July 15 due date
Fall Admissions - October 15 due date

Applications received between July 15 and August 15 may be considered on a case-by-case basis for acceptance and inclusion in the New Student Meet & Greet on August 29th. All students admitted by Friday, August 23rd will begin enrollment on the first day of school - Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
