At Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences, the Barnesville Parent Connection's (BPC) mission is to encourage unity and cooperation within the Barnesville School community. To achieve its mission and encourage The Barnesville Way, the BPC brings the school's children, parents/guardians, and staff & faculty together for school events.
Ms. Irvin brought JOYful learning to her first grade students with this Nature Art activity. Students were asked to go on a nature walk, find items to create an original piece of artwork, and write a sentence about their work.
Despite a global pandemic and national lockdown, Gala Chair and Barnesville parent, Jen Bryan (Audrey, kindergarten), and Special Events Coordinator and alumni parent, Dawn Wilbur (Robert, Class of 2012 and Thomas, Class of 2015), still managed to pull off a wildly successful Gala this past June. Original plans to celebrate in person with a silent and live auction at McClintock Distillery had to be reimagined, and Jen and Dawn successfully transitioned Barnesville's most popular annual fundraiser to a virtual event.
Every October, artists from all over the world participate in Inktober by drawing in ink each day of the month. This year, Barnesville School students joined this global event and now their art is part of a permanent collection!
The Jaralyn L. Hough Fund was created specifically to support Barnesville School faculty and staff in pursuing professional development. The fund allows faculty to follow in Jeri's footsteps as life-long learners.

We’ve partnered with KID Museum as part of the expansion of our maker-based learning & STEAM programs offered at Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences. KID Museum has delivered their “What Makes a Robot” program to third and fourth graders which includes 10 hours of the museum’s programming, combined at the museum and at Barnesville School.
