Veteran's Day - Honoring All Who Served

From the front lines to the home front, veterans and their loved ones make great sacrifices to protect the freedoms our nation holds dear. Today, we salute them. Happy Veterans Day and thank you to all who served!

Students heard directly from honored guests and veterans - Mr. Ash and Mr. Mears.

In 2009, Christopher Ash enlisted in the United States Navy as a radar specialist and later became a paralegal specialist. He was deployed many times for Operations Enduring Freedom to help fight against the War on Terror. He left the military in 2020. Mr. Ash spoke about his time in the Navy and how the military has helped shape who he is today.

Christian Mears served in the US Army for six years, from 1990 to 1996. Mr. Mears joined during Operation Desert Shield and completed his enlistment with the rank of Sergeant. His primary job was maintaining the weapons and electrical systems of attack helicopters, with most of his time spent with the AH-64 Apache. Mr. Mears shared that over that six-year period, he was stationed in Virginia, Texas, and Germany, deployed to Israel and the US Southern Border in Arizona, and traveled to six different countries.
