Observations - Questions - Hypothesis - Predictions - Experiment. Eighth grade students have been busy exploring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Since September, our 8th grade students have been completing various steps of the scientific method. As young scientists, students designed their own experiments and conducted their own research. This included overseeing an experiment at home and collecting data for over a month. As a culmination to their projects, students formulated their results, created a poster presentation, practiced their public speaking when describing their work, and competed during this week's Science Fair. Madelyn Smith received 3rd place for her work "Observing the effects music has on memorization through a series of tests on participants." Caitlyn Smith received 2nd place for her work "Observing the amount of bacteria growth on boys versus girls bathroom doors." Layla Hart received 1st place for her work "Observing the Spectator Effect on shot accuracy in Basketball."
