Every year, as part of Barnesville’s assessment program, students in grades 1 - 7 participate in the Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) published by the Educational Record Bureau (ERB). The ERB-CTP is a test for high-achieving students given nationwide. These tests assess skills in verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, word analysis, quantitative reasoning, and math.
The purpose of ERB’s Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) is to assess student growth and performance at the time of testing. This enables the school to identify strengths and weaknesses at an individual and group level. This year, ERB testing took place March 4 – 8, and individual students’ reports will be shared with parents and guardians in time for third-trimester conferences. Results will also be used to help teachers and administrators make decisions about curriculum and classroom instruction.
Gratitude goes out to Ms. Kimberly Parker, BSAS Teaching and Learning Coordinator, and Mr. Jesse Hardman, Assistant Head of School, for overseeing the testing process, and for all of the teachers who assisted with administering the assessments.
Our teaching encourages students to explore how subjects relate to one another, helping them to make connections that spark inquiry and deepen understanding.
